Chase Aeroplan: Pay Yourself Back On Travel 1.25 Cents Now Limited To 200k Per Year

For the past two years, the Chase Aeroplan card has offered a cashout option on Aeroplan points at 1.25 cents per point when used to offset purchases in the Travel category.

As of today (1/1/25), they’ve added a new limit of 200,000 points per year which can be redeemed at 1.25 cents per point. That would amount to $2,500 in Travel purchases being offset if you max out the 200k point limit.

I’m sure the whales out there will hate this change, but personally I like when they make limits which are then hopefully “safe” to take advantage of.

The Chase Aeroplan card also offers 1.25 cents per point when used to offset the annual fee; this does not eat into your 200k limit on the Travel category. And there’s also an option to redeem points to offset Dining & Grocery charges at a rate of .8 cents per point.
